Pete has been biding his time on the Front Range since his youth, waiting for home studio equipment to become accessible (i.e. cheap!) enough for him to articulate his compositional ideas...and to have a day job good enough to pay for it! He finally took the leap in the summer of 2013, testing his initial ideas on the Ableton platform, a tool which allowed him to circumvent his lack of technical prowess on "real" instruments enough to regurgitate a number of initial instrumental pieces which had previously only existed in his imagination. Not afraid of spanning styles and mixing genres, Sonic Tableaux includes material that incorporates rock, jazz, film music, and ethnic/groove influences, making use of real-time playing integrated with the voluminous resources available to today's DAW composer to explore a range of harmonic and rhythmic landscapes. With no ambitions other than self-expression, Peter looks forward to refining his compositional and production technique in the future, with an eye to potential collaboration with visual artists and vocalists…and if somebody else respects or enjoys the work, all the better!
